Reynolds Studio

After completing a home renovation on the same property, our clients turned their attention to replacing an old, structurally inadequate shed with a contemporary two-storey coastal-style studio. The new studio was designed to be a versatile space: the second floor serves as an office and a guest suite for friends and family, while the ground floor provides a workshop, storage area, and a powder room.

Building on the boundary, near a large peppermint tree, presented a unique challenge for installing external cladding.

We worked alongside the clients and Unbound Design to try and repurpose materials from the house renovation where we could – we used timber from the original house and other renovations to create a unique jarrah screening on the external stairs, which effectively conceals the bins and adds a unique touch to the design.
